Here are a couple of shots from up here.  The first was taken this morning when I was getting the first pass done on the driveway.  The kids thought it was cool to use their sleds as shields as I blasted them.  The second is yours truly in my garage just after coming in.  The wife thought my frozen eyebrows were funny.

Well, we ended up with about 10 inches since last night, bringing this week's total to about 34" here at the southern edge of the Beltway. I can't imagine 48. Fairfax County schools have closed for tomorrow and Friday (most districts have, or will).

Curtis,

I'm originally from Frederick.  My family (still there) said they were flirting with the 4-foot mark, too.  You're right, this is crazy.  My brother lives in Wolfsville, so he's really close to you.  Where's Phony Al Gore's Global Warming?

Dan, you guys (and my kids) will be in school until August at this rate!

School till August jawdrop   I just heard this today as well on the news. So if I understand this correctly..................if a student misses a day because of weather, they tack this on to the end of the school cariculumn? (sp)  Thank goodness we don't have that here in Canada or the kids would be going to school all year to make it up. LOL

Well, he's exaggerating. Right now we will be making up a day on Presidents Day (which may end up being a snow day anyhow) and one in April on what was a teacher inservice day. Two more are getting tacked on to the end of the school year...I believe June 23 and 24?

WOW!! Our teachers go on strike like crazzy because they feel they are putting in too many days as it is.
