Ya. there's guy around me selling one of these but he's posting it as a real Vendo 44 for $3,500 or something like that.  There is some pretty cool knock offs out there but then in my opinion, this is what brings the price down on original machines. People loose the appreciation for the "real McCoy"

has the 1015-OMT hurt the values of the originals? I don't think it has. A real collector would not buy one of these 44s unless it was for a fun theme as you would not want to cut up an original.

I do. I think if someone doesn't know any beter or appreciate the value or authenticity of a product, then theyb are gonna buy a knock off. If I'm at a show selling a 1015 restored,$10,000 and then buddy beside me is selling a 1015 one more time for $6,000 what are they gonna buy?If a person can buy a knock off for 1/3 the price they're gonna buy it. But me being in the collecting/restoration for almost 30 years, give me the real product.

You are correct but a person buying the knock off would not be in the market for an original as they would not pony up for one. So this is the closest they will get. It is a different class of people who buys these as well.

I collect original movie postsers and you have repos there as well but I do not see that eroding the movie poster pricing.

That's cool. I see your point. And yes I agree with you as well to a certain point. LOL I'm not bashing anyone who sells knock offs, heck I'm even trying tryn to buy those cheap Jr's from HEBS LOL. I was just stating that a guy around me was selling a "44" as an original when in fact it's Wurly. Not right to the unsuspecting newbie

Here's one I found on Ebay. I have seen these selling new for about $4,000. I would rather have an original, but I wouldn't mind seeing one of the replicas in person.

Never mind, I just found some old posts on this site. Apparently these machines are crap. Plastic front door and difficult to repair.

I think I saw one of these in person once. It would have fooled me except the one I saw had one of those LED displays like the newer machines that said something like Ice Cold Coca Cola.
