Title: Coca-cola junior
Post by: audiobeer on July 13, 2006, 09:06:52 pm
As you guys may or may not have noticed I have been away for awhile. Mom died 2 weeks ago after 2 years of Hospice at home (They said She would only live for 3 months 2 years ago). So I'm digging out all my machines and staying busy. I lost my cap catcher for my Junior. If anybody knows where or who sells a repro let me know. I saw a dented one on Ebay for $125 BIN. Not going to pay that much. I went to a house to get a free fridge off Craigslist, 50s GE. While I'm over there I see a perfect near mint Vendolter 56 Pepsi Light up machine in the corner. Asked the guy where it had been and he told me it was retired from a local barber shop 26 years ago. I bought it for a fair price ($125). Cleanest little bottle machine I ever owned. Probably could have bought it for $50. But the guy was nice enough to give me the fridge. When he asked me to shoot him a fair price I did and he jumped on it way to fast.....dang! So now I'm ready to get to work on the Vendo 63, Coke Junior, and the metal work on the Vendo 44. May have to chase a door down for that one as the cancer ate the door up 1" on the bottom. May have to shape some metal for that.

I just thought you were heavy into restoring the 44....
Funtronics I think sells a repro of the catcher though I think it's
squared off at the bottom...

Wish the guys that are repro-ing the junior cooler
would offer embossed lids and the cap catcher for restoration also... I think
those would sell VERY WELL! So anyone out there know who's repopping those
drop that bug in their ear!

glad your back... keep us posted on the progress of the machines....
and post a picture of the bargan machine!!!!

Sorry to hear about the loss of your mom... Bet she loved your collection....
Always brings back good memories for them hope.. she had stories she shared
and that you can keep!

Sorry to hear abour your mother passing away...
It's a blessing you had extra time spent with her as opposed to the doctors' diagnosis!
My best wishes for a healing heart.

Here's the 44. I hope to get a shell for it soon. I'm having Randy Mitchell pull all compenets and I'm doing the Shell. When that's done #### reassemble all the completed parts and refrideration. The cancer is bad on the bottom and on the doorand machine but Workable and very time consuming. Theres a machine on ebay now missing all the parts i hope to get. If it runs much higher it will be more cost effective to metalwork this one when you consider shipping on the ebay shell. Here is the 63 where the vandals made an attempt to get it. The vendolator 72 is blocking the view. Oops forgot the pics see below.

Thanks everyone. I could go on and on about her. My wife and I would see her every few days together while I saw her everyday in the end. I miss her and it's starting to get better. My dad has gone from a size 38 waist to a 30. He's finaly started eating again. I see him everyday.......driving him nuts but keeping him busy. All of you that have lost Mothers knows what happens. It all changes. That at age 50 is the first death of someone that was close to me. Enough of this stuff and on to soda machines!  :p

Nice pepsi 56! super deal on that!
machines seem to be scarce here in good ol' Missouri...
though I may have a lead on a Coke.... Had a guy come over
to give a bid on some drywall work and he saw all my
machines in the basement and said
“I have a machine like that (pointing to my Pepsi 81) but it's  a Coke” then he went on
to say his brother got it on a job and he brought it over to his house...then said he backed
into it with his truck..... Soooo I'm gonna check it out this week!

I'm supposed to look at a Glasco without a rack but with a coinbox and an 83 without the honeycomg (Useless). Eric let me know if your intersted in either......I'm not. I think he wants $200 for the Glasco 50 which is fair if it works. I may hall away the 83 if you want that but I won't pay anything for it.
