Title: Cav 55 marquee not lighting up
Post by: Kaleid20 on April 05, 2013, 01:01:16 pm
Guys,

Any of you run into a problem with the marquee not lighting up? I have a C1-55 and the marquee seems to be completely dead. I replaced the bulb and still nothing. The machine has a new power cord, but the fan doesnt work. Compressor switches on fine. All the wiring looks to be in pretty decent shape. Replace the ballast?

Thanks for any help

Yes it sounds like a blown ballast for the light ( I assume you've checked the switch if it's equipped with one), & a burnt out fan motor for the other, unless something got wired wrong at the time of the power-cord replacement.

Have you tried bypassing the power cord and run 120 volts directly to the light?

Ballast or starter.  Probably a good idea to replace those on an older machine anyway!
