Well I went to an auction today and bought this cigarette machine. It is all original and has a clock built in and has a paper display that seems to rotate and advertises Old Gold Cigarettes. I also saw something else that was intriguing about this machine. It has a blank coin return on left side and also has a blank coin entry bezel on left just like the right side does. Maybe you could put it on either side from factory. If anybody knows anything about this let me know. I saw one a couple weeks ago when we stopped in at BITW Store in West Virginia and they had one there for sale. It is a nice original though. I will bring it home this week when I go back it was raining today and I bought more than I could fit in truck.

Don, It's manufactured by Rowe, I don't recall the model at the moment, perhaps a Commander...
Cool to have a clock and rotating marque!
Appears your machine may be electric selection.
I'm restoring a Rowe Diplomat Console which is approx. 4 1/2' tall and has a very similar clock/rotating marquee.
Congrats on the new acquisition!

Jared is correct! It's a Diplomat which came a few versions, Console & Standard with electric or manual selection.

My machine is the one pictured with the clock & rotating marquee.
The other photo is of one I am debating on purchasing...

Yes on Diplomat. I think Late 40's into the 50's. Styled similar to the National nine selection, which went with the Stoner Candys. This one is great with the advertising behind the mirror.

I saw machines before that had the coin slot on the right for cigarettes and the coin slot on the left for matches.  Does the machine have a match vendor on the left side?

Larry I'll have to look when I pick it up I think the slot is closed off though I know the coin return is. I did see some match covers inside the machine. I'll know more when I pick it up.

I've never had a Rowe cigarette machine, but the Nationals had an entire stack mechanism on the left of the vend stack made just for match books. The vend mech had a chute from the coin bezel. On models without this they just had the blank bezel like yours. The matches could vend for 1c. I don't know if they could be set higher. I've got pics from the early 50's when my dad slit open the cigarette packs and stuck in 2c change because the machine couldn't be set for lower than a quarter.
