Hi,
I just picked up a Westinghouse countertop today and was wondering what it might be worth and how rare are they?  I know more about upright machines but have gotten into the ice coolers recently.

This cooler was not cut in half from a Jr, it has handles on both sides, and it does not have a drain.  Inside the cooler, the tub looks like it had something where a tray could be laid across...somewhat like the picnic coolers.  Solid cooler, but amateur repaint.  Thanks for your help!

Glen, attached are some pics of the machine.  It was repainted at one time but is solid..definitely not a cut-off Jr...there are re-enforced metal strips along the bottom...

Sorry to say this but I don’t think it is a Westinghouse “Half Junior”. First the embossing should be much smaller and the handles should fold into a recess. Also the size is off, the “Half” is the same width as a full size Junior but is almost a full 6” narrower ( Half should be 14” high, 25 ½ ” wide, 12” deep, Full size Junior 35 ¼ ” high, 25 ½ ” wide, 17 ¾” deep”) Lastly there should not be a lip around the bottom edge, it looks like there is a lip around the bottom in your pictures.

Steven,
Do you have a half junior or a picture of one that you can share?  I am curious to see what one looks like...I'll go out and measure mine to see what the dimensions are...thanks.  How was Gas Bash last weekend?

Steve,

Thanks for your help...I believe you are right that this was cut off from a "normal" Jr...but some guy (assuming) spent a heck of a lot of time forming the metal bends on the bottom and making a new liner and smoothing out all the metal.

Luckily, I didn't pay an arm and a leg for it...and it can now be advertised as a cut-off Jr. when I put it on eBay  ':p' .  No false advertising!

Still would appreciate a pic of an original when your site is up again.  Thanks!
