Title: Finished 7-up
Post by: Aahgo on January 21, 2012, 05:30:25 pm
So, I finally finished my LaCrosse 81, 7-up Machine.  Thought I would post a few pictures.  Big shout out to Pat P. & Johnny G.  Thanks for all the help!

Thanks for all the kind words guys.  That means a lot coming from this group.  Sorry the pictures are a little hinky, still trying to figure out the best way re-size them without losing quality.

I know these LaCrosse's are not the most collectable, but I am very happy with how this came.  It's a great little addition for the gameroom.

Collectible or not, it looks good, you are happy, and it vends.  that's all that matters.

Now comes the hard part.  Does it vend using coins?  ????

Yep, takes Quarters, I keep a cup of them on top of the machine.  It's funny, I don't have the coin mech's in my pinball's, but there is just something more satisfying about using coins for the soda machine.

I am going to look at one of these tomorrow. guy wants 100 bucks. is that a good price? it is complete and runs. what do they sell for when you are done and looks like yours? what year is that?

I would say that if the compressor is in good working condition (gets cold) and all the parts are there, $100 is a good price.  I see them under $200 frequently.  7-up machines with light signs are a little harder to find, but there are a lot of Pepsi machines out there.   Parts can be hard to find unless you are willing to buy a another donor machine.  As far as what it's worth restored, probably in the $350 - $500 range.

Hey I got that lacrosse I told you about. Few more dents than I hoped. I think all is there, but I can't open it. Any suggestions?  did you have any dents in yours?  Thinking bout making it a fantasy piece. Looks a lil more generic than yours, any ideas.  The sign was cracked too!  Do you know what year these were made? Check it out it is a few posts before this one and let me know what you think.  I am a total rookie to this so any input would be helpful.  Thanks!

Congratulations on your purchase!  I saw your other post and don't have much to add about drilling out the lock.  Pat Pixley is the authority on Lacrosse's and may be able to chime in on approximate age.  Good luck on the restoration.
