There is a company here that has fire trucks for hire for kids birthday parties. It was great fun for the little ones!

Several years back I worked for a bank and we had a firetruck.  We converted it sothe back held an ATM machine and we would bring it to parades etc.   Also was fully functioning for we brought it to car shows and would wet the tracks for the burnout contests.......that was a fun ride...

This is probably the coolest and most fitting firetruck project I have ever run across.  It was undertaken by the Detroit Fireman's Fund.  There were not too many Seagrave Sedan's made and the majority of them were deployed in Detroit.  They were in active use until the 1960's.  This project is an amazing restoration of a Seagrave Sedan to be used as a hearse for fallen firefighters.  A lot of the body was fabricated by hand and the chassis is from a Mercedes Sprinter truck.

Check it out here:  http://detroitfirefighters.net/Memorialrig.html

Here's to hoping that this restored rig does not see a lot of use except for parades and funerals of retired firefighters who die of old age!

When I lived in Fort Bragg, CA they had a Fireman contest to go along with the Logging ones. Deal was drop hose in a city block fast as possible hook up and then spray the crowd.
There were some serious add on motors in those old FT's. A couple could lift the front wheels. Great fun.

Here is another.
So wish I had the spare cash.
I'll deliver for gas money.
Only if I get to play with the lights and siren though :-)

I don't mess with these anymore.  The old trucks have lots of hiden issues.
