I am having way too much fun.  Best vintage game I own.  1957 United Midget Alley is very cool.  It uses a turret to actually shot a 2 1/2 ball to knock down the pins.  The restoration was actually fun.  A lot of wood work.  The speckled paint came out great on by 10th attempt.  What a nightmare but I was happy with it when I was finished.  Here are a couple of pics.  The machine was in pieces when I bought it.  I am picking up a 12 ft ball bowler on Thursday and will show pics of that as well.

Looks Great Brian! I think you did well on the speckled paint!
A bowler game is on my want list! How big is the midget bowler - looks to be about the size of a pinball machine.

it is just about 6 feet long.  Just a little longer than a pinball.  Here are a couple of before pics

Very nice work.  It turned out great.  I always liked those old United bowlers.  Especially the early sixties!!!

For years I wanted to try this game and last year I finally had a chance to play the Midget Alley and the Bally Alley.  Both games use the same stationary ball spinning and breaking mechanism.  I was very disapointed with both games.  It really burst my bubble.  I can't explain why, something about the way the ball travelled.  Kind of slow.  Kind of wimpy.  I just didn't care for them.

The other Turret game, Bally All Star, is more fun to me.  It uses a moving turret to hurl the balls at the pins.  Fast moving and better control, but I have yet to get any great score with it.  None of these turret games are easy to master.  They are all challenging.

I had the fortunate opportunity to see Brian's Midget Bowler at his home over the weekend. The pictures don't do justice to the extreme beauty and quality of this restoration. And, this is a very fun machine to play!

Brian is a very versatile and skilled restorer...his malt shop restorations include Stoner Candy machines, pinballs machines, coke machines, Seeburg Juke Box, slot machines, and much more.  His basement malt shop is a museum of coinop and skilled restorations. Dave
