Title: Look very closely at the picture
Post by: bcharlton on May 14, 2012, 07:53:53 am
This Seeburg C is way overpriced.  But there was something else in the picture (Craigslist ad) that I was very interested in.

The owner swears the Coca Cola Policeman was NOT there when he took this picture. It only showed up after the picture was developed at the local CVS. Upon further investigation, the homeowner found out that in 1962, a Coca Cola Policeman accidentally fell on a stop sign and died in that in that very same room!  Creepy, huh?

Potential safety hazard with the 5 degree list to port on the shelving unit. Good to see a responder already on scene :-)

Hope you get the sign!!

HA! Do you notice that with all the technology certain "ghost-hunters" ( infrared detectors, electrical-field strength meters, etc.) bring to the site of an alleged "haunting" they never seem to have simple video camera on a hat & have it pointing in the same direction the  "investigator" is looking when he/she would yell   "DID YOU SEE THAT???!!!!"  or maybe a 360 degree lens camera on the top of each shoulder so they could "prove" to the rest of us that they are credible...oh well  :tounge:

Really. They never "catch" anything.

I was going for the "3 Men and a Baby" reference. Do you guys remember that?   http://www.snopes.com/movies/films/3menbaby.asp

BTW, nice pick up on the policeman sign!

We don't want to make anyone feel left out now.  If it makes you feel better, I can threaten your life Pat.  :tounge:

Ok wise guys,

I brought  the original 1953 Coke Crossing Guard sign into the malt shop and it has found a new home.  The lesson learned is that things are not always what they seem.  Next time you spot something overpriced on ebay or craigslist, there may be something that you can buy cheaply, waiting in the wing's.

Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in a while.

Had to post a couple more pictures of BC's latest finds. His smile tells it all...both are fantastic pieces and great additions to Brian's already spectacular collection. One thing about BC, he has restored them all, candy machines, juke boxes, bowlers, gas pumps, cash registers, coke machines, pinball, signage, slots, etc.

One interesting note, after I brought these pictures up on my pc and looked at them closely, I could see a faint image of Bigfoot in the mirror reflecting from his basement window.

Thanks for the kind words Roadman.  Now you need to get off the Stoner "kick" and expand your horizons a little.  There's more to life other than owning perfectly restored versions of all machines in the Stoner family.
