I have an opportunity to pick up an FD-2 but it is missing the basket.  Does anyone out there happen to have one?  if so can you PM me and let me know what you want for it?

If not what can I expect to pay for one if it can be found?

Thanks!

I consider myself pretty knowledgable on machines but what's an FD-2? Is that another designation for an office cooler?

Yes - the FD2 is the Cavalier Office Cooler.

Never seen a basket for sale that I can remember - might be a hard find.

Someone just had one for sale that had the original basket!
The cooler was all silver. I thought someone here posted it...

Yep.  I posted the silver one.  Got outbid on that one.  down

I have found another one but it is missing the basket.  I suppose Creighton is right--it would probably be easy to make.  I was just trying to get a figure on what a basket might cost if one came up so I could use it in my negotiations!

I would imagine somebody could get $50 or so for an original - possibly more.

Several years ago a guy posted a want ad for an FD-2 cap catcher (I think on ColaMachines). I came across it somewhat late, but sent the guy an email of an eBay auction that ended $9.99, NR and no bids! I could feel him cringe as he wrote that he had bought one a few months earlier for $150.

You never know!

Hey Tim I have a FD-2 that I will be eventually restoring so I'll be keeping the basket but if you need help with dimensions or pictures of the design I will surely pass them along.Mine is missing a aluminum tube or cylinder that rises up through the center of the basket.I suppose it is to help distribute cold air,so if you run into an extra one of those.... help
Good luck gettin' the cooler.
