I have a LaCrosse 81 machine complete but the plastic sign is junk, rest is in good condition, I've been trying to get $100 for it for quite some time and have been unable to sell it.

I actually bought the machine already with an assurance that the compressor was working.  I got it home, left it set for a couple of days, then plugged it in and got nothing.  Seller is coming by next week to look at it and I would like to be better informed when I talk to him.  Here are some pictures.  Sounds like I paid too much at $350.

I would ask for $150 back the machine looks complete & not bad look to boot .
Question  for you, does it need a start /run relay  or  3/n1 starter ?
does the compressor make any noise at all or is it just dead ??

 second question  for you were are located at ??
if in MI  may be able to help

Hi Pat;

I'm a newbie when it comes to soda machines (long time pinball collector).  So I don't know about the relay or starter.  I didn't want to really start ripping into the machine when the seller was coming back.  I've had people I've sold pinballs to who've tried to fix their machines and usually made it worse and harder to troubleshoot.

When I plug it in, there is no noticeable noise at all.

When you say ask for $150 back, is that if it's working or not working?  How much would it cost to replace/repair the compressor worst case?  Are parts available?

Sorry for all the questions, but that's why they call us newbies Smiley

Thanks,
Glenn
