Hello, I am a newbie to this forum and to vintage soda machines. Just last week I purchased my first machine a Vendo 81B in good condition complete. The guy just wanted to get rid of it. $400.00 later I got her home. I want to get it restored, I live in Illinois, Fun-tronics and Soda Springs Vintage soda machines restoration are both around 2 hours from my home. I like the price of Soda Springs in Sandwich IL has anyone ever had any work done by them? I'll try to post a photo. Thanks!

Welcome to the site  smile  Well your off to the right start good price and a good machine.
I've seen their site it looks like they do good work,  you may want to ask about photos of the restoration process  and ask question  how they strip a machine  soda blast or glass bead or do they use chemicals to strip a machine.

  Hope this help  smile

WOW!! You guys respond quick! I like this forum. Jim at Soda Spings said they Bead blast and powder coat. $2700 for a full restoration. Replate chrome everything. I also had a quote from Fun-tronics his was higher but I have heard of them. Soda Springs is a new company and might just be a little cheaper to get things rolling. But I will ask to see some of his restoration process photos and visit both shops before I shell out the money. If anyone else can give me some Illinois soda restoration people I would very much appreciate it.  Thanks guys!

I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about your restoration of your Vendo 81b..
I have seen Rod's work as well and he is top notch...
have not seen soda springs but I'm sure is very nice.

If I can help in any way, please feel free to contact me.

PS.. pat, thanks for the kind words!
