I have an early model vendo v-63. It uses the thermostat with a screw driver slot instead of a knob. The adjustments are all over the place on it. Very hard to dial in a temp, it can get very cold, but trial and error to adjust.  What is the best replacement thermostat to get. Do I want a contact T or one that measures air temp?  I have seen a couple different models at funtronics and soda jerk works but don't know which is the best model.

Do you have a pic of where it should be mounted? The contact part not the dial.  Thanks!

pfft...newbies... tounge It mounts to the left of the evap' coil assy. plate as shown in pic (red circle) originally it attached with a rectangular/shallow stainless steel "upside down "U" shaped plate. or you may use two large washers of an appropriate size. don't crush the sensor capillary tubing or accidentally nick/cut it with the threads of the mounting screws.

it needs to be in firm contact with the back-plate, but again, don't crush the tubing.

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!

"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.
