Hi folks,
For the Cavalier two selection C55-E, production was 225 units in 1962 and an additional 600 in 1963.  Total produced was 825.

Does that constitute a rare machine?

I know Vendo cranked out around 80,000 V39 units over the years.  I don't know how many V81's were made.

Is 825 units considered a fairly small run of machines?  Can someone post production numbers for some of the more popular models just for comparison's sake?

Maybe there's a source that has this production info?

Thanks,
Bob

825 units is extremely rare.  As a point of reference the cav 102 had a run of 500 or so and it's considered as one of the most rare.

Problem is demand so I'll bet a ton of those got scrapped. That will make the existing ones better, but sshhhh, keep it under your hat. I'll bet there are a few left in the wild to be had for $250.00.

I can get on eBay or craigslist weekly and find a Calvalier 55.  Rare is an item in my opinion where there are very few in circulation.  IMO

Hello Bob,

How did you obtain your Cavalier statistics for production figures?

I agree I've seen tons of cav 55s but not many of the E version.   If the 825 figure is accurate then it's my opinion they should be considered rare.

What does the E designation connotate?

I'm assuming E is the 2 selection version.

The C-55E model came in both single and dual select versions.  The C-55D model came only in single select.  The E is the style designation.
