Title: Twin Cobra Arcade Game
Post by: skipperslittlebuddy on February 01, 2007, 09:46:37 am
Hi Every one.
I have an oppertunity to buy a 1987 Twin Cobra Arcade game.I don't know anything about arcade games but have several jukeboxes. The game is currently going for $25.00 and seems to not work.It says in the description that it worked before but now will just go in to test mode saying RAM check,ROM check, sound ok.How hard would this problem be to fix?Can I replace the boards, and if so how hard of a job would it be?

Thanks
Skipperslittlebuddy

I dont know anything about them but for 25.00 I would sure buy it and give it a try to fix.  The worst you could do is get 25.00 worth of experience or a bad shock... :D

I wonder if the test switch is on  ???
Or it may work if the chips are all reset (pulled out, cleaned, put back in).
Swapping boards with that machine is real easy since it is JAMMA.  You can put any JAMMA board in there.  You can also get JAMMA adapters to fit other boards.  You can put anything in this machine (without drilling more holes) that uses 2 8-way joysticks and 2 buttons, or less.  So you could put a Pac-Man board in there.
I not sure if he will work on this board, but I have had Mike's Arcade fix some of my boards.
Here's a JAMMA FAQ in case you are not familiar with it.

Dr.Galaga.

Thanks for the great info,it was very helpfull. The arcade ended up being sold for $147.50 kinda high for a non working machine.I will be looking out for another arcade game though.
