You don't see decent originals very often. this one is on ebay with 8 days left as of today.
Would be an excellent candidate for a "refurbishment" and not restoration... starting out at 3200.00 not too bad considering you don't need repaint and runs and cools.

just thought I'd share..

Thanks for the post! Very tempting. Passing that way in a couple of weeks. Out of the loop these days. What is true value if willing to ship to a buyer? Of course it would be like everything else and never sell it :-).

id say 3k for a decent original is well worth it... considering if you like original machines, and can just refurbish it for display or use pretty inexpensive.  considering if you paint it that will run you 1500-1800... then if it has new paint, you'll want new glass, chrome, stainless polished, and you basically would have it restored.

so hopefully whoever buys it is looking for a nice original that will remain that way.  otherwise it's overpriced for a 81d that needs restoring.

going rate is around 2k for something complete but needs restored.. I have still bought them for less on occasion, but pretty easy to find one to restore for under 2k.

Agree, very nice machine for a fair price. It would cost you avg. $6,000 for a fully restored one. Nice originals are becoming VHTF.
