Are the coin mech for Ideal and Glasco the same?

Thanks

They are pretty much interchangeable between the two machines, although the "low-rise" style is more often seen on Glasco sliders, & the taller coinmech units with the flat chrome top ( sometimes called a Frankenstein mech') in more often seen on Ideal sliders.

Does anyone know the history on Ideal and Glasco sliders?  Were Ideal and Glasco different companies? It's odd the Ideal 55 and Glasco GBV 50 are so similar.

I don't know this as fact but I think it is like the westinghouse and cavalier bow sided coolers. Coke put out a spec and had someone make the cooler. It must have been something along those lines.
