As long as I can remeber my grandparents always had this old Coke machine out near the pool in the backyard. As I grew older they gave it to me and I had never taken the time to actually move it to my new home.

Well this last weekend I moved this beast, and man was it heavy. Got it home, inside the basement, and just for giggles decided to plug it up, not figuring it would run after 5 years of being unplugged.

Well low and behold, the darn thing worked. I packed it full of drinks and its running like a champ. Doing a little bit of research (on this great site naturally) and it seems that I have a Vendo V126-14. Not a whole lot of info on this model other than the picture and basic data. Anyone else have any experience with this beast?

Regards,
John Martin

So, it seems like you've got yourself a winner, in the fact that it runs, & vends OK...is it a square-corner machine? multi-button? please post a picture that always help when trying to identifing the machine some people (like me  ':p' ) know a lot of the machines more by site than discriptions unless it's Vendo 81 Royal Crown or something along that line (we wish!)

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!
The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p
Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor
11 is louder than 10...
"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

Johnie,

Yup, thats the machine I have, It has a vendo label on the right side that identifies it as a V126 (no "B" after '<img'>   )

I will get the digital camera out tomorrow and shoot a couple of pic of it and post them. The only difference between it and the picture is that it doesn't have the groovy wood trim, my grandfather retrofitted it with an external lock, and its all red. It also has a Dr. Pepper label on each side which I find kinda cool.

Thanks again for the interest and I'll get those images up asap.

Oops..

I meant no "14" after the "126" , not B ':p'

Also, One other difference I just noticed. The example image is solid between the Coke sign and the top of the machine. On my machine, it is flat steel enlayed with "pause and refresh" all the way across.
