Hi All - Looking to see what the value is on this generic VMC, and any other comments you guys might have on the machine.

It appears complete, refrigeration unit works, was originally white and somebody rattle can painted over it in green.  Body is very straight and I see little visible rust.

In my opinion, $2500-3000 if I were selling it..... but I'm too cheap to pay that much.

It would make a great OC machine!!

Very collectible machine. One of the few machines that has actually gone up in value over the past few years. $2,500 - $3,000 as said before is right on.

Yeah I think I paid 2200-2500 for the last Generic I bought .. and was in worse condition...
if you can get it for that or under buy it,  even if you don't need it , buy it and you'll find someone one here who will want it.

Well I ended up getting the machine.  I wasn't looking for this model, but couldn't pass up on the deal.  My plan is to either:

A. Keep it for parts (I have a lead with a guy who may sell me a Pepsi 81 that's missing coin door, bezels, and mech - should know by this spring if that will work out), then sell what's left.
B. Offer it in trade for a Pepsi 81 of similar condition.
C. Sell it to raise funds to purchase a Pepsi 81, assuming I can find one.

Questions that I have:

1. With the coin entry bezel, what's the window on the right?  I'm guessing it's for displaying "use correct change" if it was a change giver mech.  Since it's not, is the bezel correct?  If it is, what usually went in the window?  This one has a white stripe with no writing in it.

2. Anybody know anything about Duffy's?

That machine is to nice / rare to use as a parts donor.

The parts you need for the possible restore on the Pepsi machine will show up.  Just be on the lookout for a VMC 110 large door for the needed pieces.

I agree with Marvin I would keep it together as a whole unit.

Than you can have one of these.
I think this may be one of coolest machines ever.  I don't care if it is a fantasy piece.  I would do one up just like it.

How much for the front main door bare? I may be a buyer then you can get your pepsi door and swap over all the parts onto the pepsi. Let me know

Thanks

I found this website for Duffy's root beer. http://duffysrootbeer.com/Home_Page.php Not sure if it's the same company but I might have to see about finding a bottle of that stuff since I have a coworker who's last name is Duffy.

Sounds like it would be best if I didn't part it out, but I will get in touch with you if I do.  I have no idea.
