Another seller describing this as the "Holy Grail".  I am going to try to get it but I am afraid at what he is going to ask.  I am thinking it is worth in the $2000 range.  What do the experts think?

Well... a Jacobs 56 sold last week (he had it listed on Ebay and CL) and had major damage on the back side (tipped over I'm sure) and it went for 2300.  Another on CL and is asking 3700.  I would say expect him to ask betwen 3 and 4k, mainly because he listed it as the holy grail.

It's not an easy machine to get (I've been trying for some time now) but people tend to know what they have when they sell these, and it's tough to get that DEAL on one of these.
Good luck with it!  Let us know.

This is always a tough machine to guesstimate a value. Yes rare and collectible but expensive and single vend, plus only a collector would both look and buy this machine because your average person who just wants a soda machine for home use will never have a interest in this machine. Looks nice though.

well said mygoose.... it's not your begginer collector who buys this mahine.  Being a single vend is the draw back, but it  still looks cool.  Not sure myself about how rare they are, as I myself see about 5 a year for sale thru CL or Ebay,  yet MAYBE see a RC 81 for sale once a year.
I guess like all machines we buy, pay with what you feel good about, and if you're going to keep it, well, enjoy it!  The price you pay is the price you needed to pay to own it.

I was never a huge fan of this machine until I had one here at my house for about 6 months because I was trying to sell it for a friend of mine. I was tough to sell and was restored. I went to a member here overseas. I forgot selling price but while I had it I really grew to liking it, a lot. If I was a rich collector that would be on my wish list for sure. I remember I loved dusting it off because the top was so round.

She wrote back and said an expert appraised it at $4200. I told thanks but I have to pass. turns out a buddy was doing the same thing. he emailed her, got the same response and he too said no thanks except he added a link to a sold one in the $2000 range
