Title: Vendo - value?
Post by: on February 10, 2005, 08:57:34 pm
I have a square corner, slant shelf Vendo vending machine.  The motor is there; it runs, but don't know if it will get cold.  On the sides are signs "Drink Dr. Pepper King of Beverages."  There is a picture of a woman near the top, and the bottle door has artwork on it.

The top corners and the legs have ornate metal work on them.

It may be a model 91 or 97, I'm not sure. I found those numbers inside near the coin machine.  In the back is another sales model V/VF63/7.

Unable to post pictures at this time, will try later.

Any help you can give me will be appreciated. value? age?

Sounds like a Vendo "Queen-Ann" V63/Dr.Pepper from your description.  it should have some ornate legs that hold it off the floor too. worth? well I'll let other people give you that,
(lets just say that it's not one of my personel favorites along with Edsels)  :;): way to "foo-foo" as my 6 year old would say!

Yes, it does have ornate legs.  I am trying to take some pictures with small enough bytes to be posted.

Yep! a Vendo VR63/Queen Ann here's some info from  the website www.colamachines.com I believe it was produced for Dr.Pepper for their 100th anniversary. or something like that, a rare find, even if it doesn't cool (that can be fixed) but make sure the "light-up' sign is A-OK (no flaking paint deep scratches/cracks, etc.) as its condition can make or break this machine's value...Value-wise (In my opinion anyways) would be between $350.00-500.00, if it ran & it was complete....but to me , it's just another Vendo V63/squarecorner...but it is fairly 'rare"  (I hate that word!)

The Vendo 63 was produced by Vendo corporation from the late 1950's to the mid 1960's. This is one of the best looking square corner bottle machines from the 60's. It is also a great machines to own since it is a glass door slant shelf vendor. This means that it can vend just about any type, or brand, of bottle drinks. It came in various versions/styles such as the VR63, 63A, 63B, and 63C.

One of the best rarest Vendo 63's ever produced was the Dr Pepper Queen Anne ( click on the images button beow) . It came with a Victorian style light up sign. It also came with engraved trim and leg stands.

:) Thank you so much for the information on the Queen Anne VF63.  The only damage is the right leg's ornate metal work.  The artwork is in beautiful shape as well as the plastic.

If anyone else has an estimate on the price please let me know.

Well, I plugged the Queen Anne in. It got cold in 30 minutes and the lights work.  I want to clean it up to sell.  What should I use on the paint.  Everything is original and I don't want to damage anything.
Thanks
