Title: Coca-cola police stop sign value???
Post by: on August 25, 2002, 12:22:24 am
I know this isn't a machine value question, but a friend of mine came across an old coke sign that looks like police officer holding a stop sign.  He said it was about 4 feet tall, had a cast iron base, some rust, a few dents and a couple of .22 holes in it.  The asking price was $1000.  It's a little rich for my blood at this time, but is it worth it?

These were used at school crossings in the late 50's - 60's. Many people refer to them as Coke Cops and I have seen mint or excellent condition ones sell as high as $2500!  There are a lot of variables to be considered to warrant this price...

As far as if the one you're talking about, like I said previously in oh so few words, it's all about condition, condition, and condition!
