Well I ventured over to Indiana today to go look at some machines and I found these two machines. The one that stumps me is the Selectivend slider that is embossed 7up on the front. It has some slight surface rust but it isn't bad. It is complete and runs. Has anyone ever seen anything like this. It is a really neet looking machine. If I remember right the tag says that it is a SS63. The westinghouse is complete and really nice. Not a bad day. Has anyone ever seen one like the selectivend?

She is a great dog. She loves to smell the old soda in the machines. By the way I didn't mean slider in the topic I was referring to slant shelf. I was just out looking at it it is such a different looking machine and there is no info on it in the soda machines section.

Great score.... Never seen one like this... Vendolator
embossed their square tops early on (81 & 56 models)
I had a 56 embossed 7up on the bottom of the door.
It's great to see these still popping up.
Selectivend embossed the 7up early but not the Pespi
or Dr Peppers....Hmmmm
That should be a KEEPER! May be a one of a kind/last of its kind for now.... Amazing what is still out there....
Will look killer with fresh paint and the decals!
Way to go!...
You guys are begining to sway me to the square side!!!!!

The cool thing about it is it has aluminum trim all the way around it. It isn't just any trim it is about 2 inches thick. You can see in the pic how it sticks out. It was origionally brushed or anodized but it would look really nice polished.

I bet it's a early, EARLY 60s (before 1963)... Put this one in the
gallery with before and after images. And use a darker green on
the grill at the bottom and coin entry... That will really pop!

Hey Loman4ec, venturing over into Hoosier country, eh? Those are great finds! There's a guy that has a 7up really similar to that one that I see everyday on the way to work...It's been sitting outside awhile. My buddy mentioned to me that this thing was "just sitting in the yard" and bigger than big, it is!

The house it sits in front of is kinda....scary, to say the least. Haven't quite worked up the courage to knock on the door yet.

I think that's a smart move keeping the embossed 7up.
Do some searches to see if you can find any info on it.
I went through all my old issues of Club Soda... I've never
seen one. You have a keeper I think.....

I am going to start tearing it down in the next few days and start sanding on it. Does anyone know where to find the 7up decals. The sides are just decals. I looked in the funtronics catalog and couldn't find anything other than coke. I am thinking about getting it done and possibly taking it to chicagoland. Student loan payments are going to start soon. Ouch!!

Good question!....
Someone use to make Pepsi (single and double dot), 7up and
Dr Pepper water release decals.. You catch them every once and a while on Ebay.
Memory Lane I think it was.....
What ever happened to them and Blast from the Past?
They use to carry the 39 drum, post, release hanger etc. was a set for like 399.99

Anyone out there know? I also remember a Mission orange cap water release decal.
Back when there still was a Club Soda several advertised in there.

Anyone remember the Magnificent Seven? Are any of those guys post here??
Bob K., Jay B.?...... anyone?.... These guys had the collections Now!!!!!

I just spoke to curtis from memorylaneblvd. He is in charge of the restoration dept, and he is who thought up the frosty machine. super nice guy. They have every decal for 7up, from bottles to the "you like it it likes you" decal. great people. If you ever need to buy any decals other than coke they are the place to go. They will even walk you through any problems you might have. When I was building the Frosty machine he even sent me about a dozen pictures of theirs to help me finish mine. That is the way a company should be run.

Josh, can you give us a picture or two of all that you have available?
And how much does shipping usually run? I am in Minnesota.
Thanks,

Now that I look at it I think the only thing that I have that might be for sale is the Westinghouse that I bought yesterday or the Cav 55 but It will take the right amount of $$ to get the Cav 55. Email me at jdloman2000@yahoo.com if you want to see some pictures and discuss the price.

The decals are vinyl. That is all that i will use. They are so much nicer as long as the machine is out of the sun.

I just spoke to selectivend. They had a tech that knows alot about the older machines. He says that the machine was made by either Cavalier or Vendo and contracted to selectivend. the inside cooling system looks like a cavalier round evaporator and the bottle rack mechanism is almost identical to Vendo. Also the bottle opener and change bezel on the front is the same as on an old Vendorlator 127 that I had. This is weird.

I was out working on another selectivend of mine today and it has a few parts like the door latch and the way that the liner and breaker strips are all look like they are Vendo's design. Has anyone else ever heard of this. Everyone always complains about how hard it is to find parts for selectivends now I will just look and see if a vendorlator part will fit.

Well I started taking the machine apart today and it is going well. One odd thing though. There is alot of wood inside this machine. The inside of the bottle door opening and behind the breaker strips is all wood. They didn't hinge the door in wood though. there is wood around where the hinges connect but it is braced with steal. But this machine is definitely made by vendo. The door hinges are the same as the Vendo 56 and the workings of the bottle rack are similar to the 56's and 63's except backwards. I have all of the chrome ready to go out tomorrow and everything that was aluminum is being sent out to be polished. This is going to be a shiny machine. I posted a pic of the wood in the bottle door opening.
