Thanks all. May very well be the "Tombstone" machine when L gets home :-).
So has had it's first bath in quite awhile. Glad the tape residue came of with no issues. Dr. Pepper sticker may have to stay.

Backstory is this was in a filling station. Guy worked there when they got a new 56 square top he brought this home. Replaced the 56 and it was in the basement as well. He did not know the story on the moment of violence to the belt buckle guard.

So here are update photos. Like the cap catcher mod. This machine will stay as is. It's not broke so won't fix it.
Still a few layers of gunk to get off...

Cleaned up nice Creighton!
If 'L' has a meltdown about it, then sell the mech and rack and buy her something from the profit.  biggrin

Well L had a glass of champane on top of the Eiffel tower today. Enjoying her Europe trip and I'm having a grand time here :-).
Suspect this slider came in at a bit less than the Paris bills will be. All good.

Does anyone have a clean photo of the door label and the bottle gate stamp. Tag attached any serial number guide out there?
Thanks!

Did see those. Thanks. Not correct for this machine. Enough left of the lid graphics should be able to save it. The bottle rack stamp a bit trickier.

If going for originality, I don't think the mech is correct. I believe it is off a Glasco. I like the Glasco better though.
My lid decal looks like it has Barq's drawn into some of the bottle caps.

Pics off my Barq's....

Agree, on the mech. I left a dirt footprint that may show what original was. Like the look of this one and it is what I have so stays. Funny this has a snorkel drain tube. Doubt that worked very well. Anyone know what the warrentry period was on an Ideal compressors? Mine is stamped "Warrantry Expires can't read then 1965". Chance could backdate the machine from that tidbit.

Thanks Tom, My lid graphics are close to yours. Pretty good at visual patterns and don't see any on my lid bottle caps. Photo's attached. Just getting dark so time to test some lighting ideas.
