Have two questions. One is,,what is the best way to remove the woodgrain contact material on outside of coin door and also the outside vinyl brand labels on each side of outside machine on Vendo 63 ?
Thanks for any information.
Ran a cooling test last night and got er down to 29*. Very happy about that.

For the woodgrain, I use a heat gun and get it pliable, then you can start peeling it off.  You can use a gasket scraper or similar tool to get under it in tough spots.  After it's all off, I use Goo Gone to remove the rest of the glue residue.

thank you for the information. Am old street rod builder and these things have always been an issue. Want to try and not destroy paint underneath contact paper so we'll give it a go. If worse comes to worse,,may got with a paint stripper and start from scratch after removing everything. Thanks again for the info.

LOL,,,Already have the paperwork in the mail. All is good.
Not difficult to remove at all. Underneath was a smooth glossy aluminum contact paper which peeled off easily with razor scrapper. Done. Now,,,,paint it or apply woodgrain again.

Were the woodgrain coin doors on Cavalier's painted in the exact same way (type of paint, number of layers) as one left bare black from the factory?

Mine weren't.  The metal underneath the wood grain looked like overspray from when the edges were painted.

Thank you for telling me. I figured Cavalier didn't always just slap the woodgrain on a fully finished black door and call it a day, but I wasn't sure. I'm guessing they thought it didn't make economic sense to fully paint every single coin door that was destined for a woodgrain overlay.
