Bought this the other day

Wife is going mad but I thought it might look good as a water feature in the garden. Don't know much about them at all. Not sure even what colour they are supposed to be. Don't have them over here.

They are red in my neck of the woods.
and should I be alarmed  (no pun intended ) a fire hydrant  is on my list of things  my game room requires for converstaion peices?

But I've seen them all sorts of colors across the country--mostly red, sometimes yellow or white--and once this terrible puke green. Trying to remember where that was. It made an impression, but probably not the one you're after. Here I am years later trying to remember, "where was that terribly ugly thing".

Ours are yellow, but I remember as a kid some of my favorites were painted to look like little firemen with helmets.

Ours in NJ are red, some with white hats and valve plates... many in the bigger cities are closer to rust color...  '<img'>
