Think I "Broke Bad"

I was letting some rusted pieces sit in a solution of Hoppes #9 and some left over rust and blue remover. Came back a few hours later and what looked like sugar "crystals" had formed in the container and on the parts.
Anyone know the science behind what happened? Thank you

Which rust and blue remover were you using? Did the metal parts contain any copper or brass?

Not sure of brand. Came in a kit from when I was rebluing one of my gun barrels. No copper or brass. Galvanized zinc I believe.

If you don't know what happened..... tread lightly.
Sounds like some type of chemical reaction happened.... could it be the mixture of the hoppes and the rust remover that caused a reaction?

Very nice Bonovox.
I'm figuring that's what happened by mixing the two. On the upside they came out very clean.
