I feel like I'm at a crossroads with the Choice Vend machine. It looks like it's going to need a good bit of refrigeration work done on it. While I might could get someone to work on the cooling without losing my shirt, it looks like I'm gonna have trouble getting the other problems fixed. I can't remove the vend base on my own and really don't have a place to put it and check it out if I could.

I'm thinking I'm probably gonna try to sell it, though I'm still not 100% sure. I'm hoping to get some advice. If I decide to sell, should I wait until after the new year? Is any time of year better than another to sell a Coke machine? Any other comments or thoughts?

I appreciate the help.

If you sell I think I'd wait till spring... I don't know about most but Christmas will
have me LOW on cash as far as buying... I'd watch eBay and see what things are bringing
in January and February.... But wait till after tax return and some have had time to
save a little cash and their refund checks start coming in....
Just me...

the cost refrigeration work depends on what is wrong with the cooling deck, the cheapest fix would to swap the cooling unit for a used one from a equipment liquidator on ebay, or Eric from global compressors should be able to fix you up maybe.... & it'll sell quicker if you can state that it "works"
and it'll bring a higher price & more bids too.  ':<img:'>

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!
The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p
Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor
11 is louder than 10...
"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

I'd really like to fix it and keep it for myself, but I'm afraid it would cost too much money and trouble to fix to be worth it. Cooling wise, it may only need freon (or whatever goes in for R12 these days) and leaks fixed, but it doesn't seem to have service valves on it. Which means they'd have to be installed.

I bought it assuming that service valves were on it and that I could get it recharged and checked for $40 or $50. Now that I'm pretty sure it at least needs new valves in addition to leak checking/fixing and freon, I cringe at the thought of what the repair bill might be.
