Welcome to the site. If you give us an idea where you are located you may get a heads-up from a member about a nice machine in your general area.

Since you owned a Cavalier 96 ST, you should now look for a Cavalier 96 RT.

First machine was a CSS-96 lighted, nice square window coke display logo that lit up well at night. Too bad the older ones don't have the lights also. It ran well and the friend who bought it from me owns a HVAC company, so he had the whole refrigeration system replaced in it.

I haven't settled on exactly which style I want to get now. I like the idea of having choices of beverages - (at least 2) which was nice about the cavaliers, although I'm a big coke person, my wife is more of a Dr. Pepper person. Plus I want a small footprint and not quite as heavy as the old one I had. It seemed like it weighed a ton!

Any suggestions other than the 96 RT?  The vendo 56 and 81's look pretty cool.

I'm also more interested in buying a restored version this time. Any suggestions on what to check out,  to see the quality of work people are doing on the restorations?
I've seen some poor quality ones and I don't want to get suckered in by that.

Im in Charlotte, NC

You will soon find that 95% of the public feels that same way, that's why you are probably facing paying top dollar for one.

If you like the lighted sign and want a smaller footprint look at an older Vendo 63. (early 60's model). All depends on your budget.

Thanks for the suggestion, probably cheaper than the round top, but I'll stick with looking for an older one and forgo the lighting.
