Can anyone tell me the value of a Vendo F83B5W made in August 1951? I will try to put pictures with it.

Well, yours is an early model and has been around a while, the 2-penny box on the upper left is from the fifties as is the updated two-tone paint job. (as the 7-cent sticker says) when Coke had to finally go from 5, then 6 and finally to 7-Cents, first you deposit the pennies, then the other coins, and then you'd lift the door to remove the soda.

The V83 is vendo's original upright vendors that was mass producted, but it will only vend small size bottles (6-oz. originally, todays bottles now hold 8-oz.), I'd guess yours being outfitted with the 7-cents/penny box adapter, maybe between $350 to $600 in original/working condition, (in my opinion) they're big, heavy, & limited to small size glass bottles..but on the other hand yours is complete & they share the same back cabinet/chassis as the more popular Vendo V110 & 6-case Vertical vendor, ther is one sitting at a local antique shop here in michigan, with a price tag of $450, and it's been sitting there for about 1-1/2 years, the owner can't sell it. but you might do better at auction (Ebay) if you have a motivated local buyer...

No the door was on the machine. Someone had broken into it a long time ago. We removed the door. My friend is straighting the stainless steel hinges and we will put the door back on. Found a 1940 & 1958 nickel inside. Also plenty of cork line caps.

           Thanks for all the relys,

Good eye & Good question!, this is another problem area on the V83's & V110's , the door is attached to the chasssis with screws into wood and it's usually Oak, well the acids in the wood + steel screws = corrosion!  Also, the condensation from the inner liner, and it tends to rot, not a very good plan. on the V110 this almost always shows up on the bottom edge of the bottle door, which is , (you guessed it) framed in wood also...many are found with the bottle door rotted & rusted away, it pays to know a carpenter with these machines!
