I picked up a nice little 7 up square top vendo 56. When I got it it has some minor rust spots and the glass in the door was broken, it was cooling great.  I took it all apart fixed everything and re painted it and put it all back together and was going to adjust the thermostat before i brought it in the house.  I plugged it in and after about 30 to 45 minutes i cked and it was down to about 25 degrees.  So I turned the thermostate up about 1/16th of an inch and cked it in about 20 minutes and it was up to 50 degrees,  I turned it back down less than 1/16 and cked it in about 20 minutes and it was about 30 degrees.  I am thinking that this is a bad thermostat, is there anything else I should look at....Yes I will post pictures of the machine when I can get my camera back from the boss...

If you are going to be using the machine regularly, I would go ahead and replace the T-stat with a non contact type.

I am almost certain that both SJW and FT sell them - not sure about your LHS.
