Well one more piece to put on and its done. Coin mech is as is set on free vend. and I need the coin return cup as its been sent out for chrome. Here are some before pictures.

And the after....

Machine is painted in BC CC, all new stainless, powder coated insides, cooling unit is original and includes new wiring etc. Not bad for a $120.00 basement find.

Machine will be for sale soon. The powder coat is textured hammer tone gray. The decal is long gone  the heat gone got to it, The lid was bought by a fellow in Springfield, MO named Ben Smith I think it was around $100.00 I had to drill the holes for the hinges and handle.

Joey

How did you remove the old piece and how did you attach the new piece?

Did you have the new piece fabricated or does someone sell them?

I sandblasted the old one, then welded in the seam on both sides, did the bodywork, and just used double sided tape to hold it down. Randy Mitchell had a few of these made 417-485-4165 tell him I sent you.

Greta job:

I am a big fan of Pepsi stuff and I love it.  I have two unrestored Ideal 55 in my warehouse just collecting dust.  Maybe someday I will get to them.

ps

To all of you non Pepsi guys out there.  This cooler is huge.  It is a GE Pepsi Double form 1947.  I still have the actual bill of sale.  I have never seen a machine in my life with more embossing.  I am lucky to have a pin stripper that loves my hobby as much as I do.

Hope you like the pics.

Great job Brian, I actually found a set of those lids last week. They wanted  two hundred for them.
