Finally finished the VMC 81 Dr Pepper machine. Did this one for a customer who is putting together a collection of 81's. I'm trying to talk him into putting the hand and bottle Dr Pepper decal on the sides. I think it looks a little plain like this, but he likes things original.

Looks fantastic.  I vote for the simpler look as well.  The lines of a redone machine just look classic to me.  I think too many decals detract from the beauty.  To each his own though.  I'm pretty sure your customer will be thrilled either way.

The sign on front is original and the ones on the sides are ones that I made up.
