'<img'>  Well here's a bit of news for those of you who like to collect old can vendors, this was posted by a Parts Source of mine, a little chilling: SODA VENDING MACHINES FOR EXPORT: A major U.S. Bottling Company will start destroying their older CAN soda vending machines in 2003 to make them unavailable to the domestic secondary market. We are seeking HIGH VOLUME, RELIABLE & FINANCIALLY SECURE importers in Asia, S. America, Europe, Africa and Astral-Asia. (Can NOT ship to Canada & Mexico). All interested parties please send your complete contact information to: Matthew Chitiea pepsieqp@cal.net - Call: 530-622-8265
This "Company" is Pepsico ! awful nice of them... '' so much for "Free-trade" in Mexico & Canada ehh? I know Pat Pixley knows about a certain scrap yard that has a ton of old machines that are slated for destruction, here in Michigan.
Pepsico/Michigan won't even let you take Parts off of them!
Dirty Dogs, what a waste! just like when they tried to get all of the old car yards to crush their 30's-60's parts vehicles for "enviromental" credits for the state, the old car lobby put a stop to that!  (hard to rebuild a 55' chevy. without spares)
and so we are warned, maybe we should write/email Pepsi and let them know they are destroying a hobby-market...well there's my two-cents, so buy "em now or your out of luck. '<img'>

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!
The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p
Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor
11 is louder than 10...
"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

Johnie, Is right the local Pepsi Distributor is going as far
as putting dent in with a sledge hammer and that is the bad
news .  The good news is I talked to the  7Up distibutor
and  he said let him now  what  I  wanted and he might still
have it. and they are getting rid of the old machines. So this is still a plus.    '<img'>

Interesting...I tried to purchase a old machine slated for disposal at the local Pepsi company.....i was told it was a waste hazard & they gave me a bit of runaround ( even though i'm a licensed refigerant class I & II license holder ) They finally let me look at a machine but told me the change mech. had to be removed and the decals had to be painted over before they could sell it to me. I felt they were trying to discourage me any way possible from buying it so i didn't bother going any further.
