Title: Newly aquired machine
Post by: on August 17, 2002, 04:08:55 pm
Hello and thank you in advance for reading my post and for any help you offer me. My question is this: I have just aquired a Coke machine and was wondering how to find out what model number it is so as to find out the worth and if I can find parts for it? It is in working order and we think we have a supplier for the coke bottles that it will take. The black tag that is usually on the side has been removed. Is there any were else in the machine that maybe I am overlooking? Right now I don't have a Picture of the machine but will be taking a picture soon.

We have taken two photos of the machine and are waiting for the film to be all taken. It is Square, has a glass door on the left side, has a Coin Co money machine inside that is from 1983(think that it might have been a replacement though), and the shelves inside are adjustable for different size bottles.  As soon as I have the pictures I will put them on here.  I did find out that it is made by Cavalier.

Ladies and Gentlemen I have two photos of the Coke machine now.  To the left of the coin slot there is a lighted area that says Have a Coke.  To the right there is a glass area that holds the price(we are haveing the glass replaced as it was broken).  The large hole in the front is were the bottle opener is located, and the small hole is were the lock goes.  (we are having the lock rekeyed as we did not get a key with it)  I believe the machine to be a Cavalier CSS-96 but am not sure.  There is damage to the bottom were it looks like someone has kicked the machine to receive their soda or their change.  We are looking to totally restore this machine and any help would be great. I am wondering if there was a plate around the bottle opener area and if so were I might accuire a new one as this machine does not have it.  The shelves on the inside are adjustable from I believe 7 7/8 to 9 7/8 size bottles but could double check that to be sure if that is important.  The trademark lettering is under the Coca-Cola not in the C like some newer stuff.  The front lights with two flouresent bulbs, and the machine is in full operating status.  Just needs to have dent taken out from someones foot and to be painted as there are several scratches.  Any help would be great thanks.  Also an approximate value would be nice.

It appears to be a Cavalier CSS-96 as you have stated.
I see you'll be needing the bottle opener bezel... As Pat stated, check some of the Parts Suppliers in the Parts Suppliers Section to see what's available for your "Parts Wanted" List...

The machine looks real clean! How's the inside, sides and back etc look?

As for a value, my estimation would be a round $400 - $600

The inside, side, and back are in better condition than what the front is in.  Mainly alot of scratchs in the paint.  Thanks for helping me identify the machine.
