Title: Which Coin Mech to keep - Cav 72
Post by: Ezra on November 09, 2014, 12:12:00 am
Which coin mech would you keep for originality? One machine is staying and one is going.  The one on the left I Know nothing about but its inner workings are more metal then the FP 9800 on the right which appears mostly plastic.

Thank You

Originality goes out the window if the machine won't work.  :darn:
I would junk them both and use the coinco 7500 or equivalent for dependability.

I would junk them both and turn both machines into free play machines. People seem to love free play machines. Lol.

Do both work?

Do they both take dimes or whatever you want? I have a mostly metal one that is hardset to .25 and can't be changed easily like the new style ones. Pain in the buttox.

If the one on the right works, use a little Flitz or polish on the metal covers and it will look good in the machine.  I did that with mine and I prefer the look to the all plastic Coinco's

Yes, I think. when plugged in they hum and move when I push the refund switch in bottom corner but have been to busy fully drop in change to study if they operate the rack.
Thank You Moondaw, Mygoose,Slapshot42, Tkaz, and MaineT

Im going to research the the 7500 and see if they are available new somewhere. Maybe funtronics or there is always ebay

I would fully make sure one actually works!  No since of getting rid of either one until you know...

Would suck to sell a the only one that works on accident.  I think it will sell better also if you know it works!  That's usually going to be the buyer's first question!

Moondawg is there any chance you mean CoinCo S75-9800A when saying 7500?

No offense meant, but I never could understand this mentality. Why would anyone want a coin op machine that doesn't work? You may as well just have a refrigerator. All the fun is in hearing the coins find their way through the mech, hearing the CLUNK of the solenoid, and seeing the Have A Coke button light up!

Exactly right!  The fun is in the coin drop into the mech and either pushing down a lever or hearing the release of the item!

If you have one that works , stick with it that's all that matters . If you sell it hand over original if you have it but most were changed at sometime.

Just my 2 cents
I would go with a newer coinco if the other one is unserviceable . I on the other hand like to stay Original in the machine appearance if possible . So that being said here's a picture of my Original Cav 72 it had a National coin mech .And I have 4 OEM Mechs just like the one that was in it (Not Pictured ) so I installed the New one .  :tounge:
