Stop at Tony's for a BLT...
What? you asked for suggestions??

If you're thinking of keeping it, the usual, check for belt line rust, , the door isn't sagging,  the chrome is all there.
If you're planning to part it out,   I need  the coin mech Smiley

Heading to Northern Michigan tomorrow to visit some clients but I am also going to check this machine out.  It is a VMC 110 LD generic.  Looks to be in decent condition.  He is going to count the shelves and get back with me and also get me a picture of the inside of the coin-mech area--so not sure if the mech is in place.

I don't think he got a lot of action on his last CL listing due to the remote location.  What is a good offer on this machine if there is no rust or other major issues?  I am going to assume that the compressor is not working.

Thanks!

Thats a nice machine! It would make a great Dr pepper machine. or would make a great fantasy machine. In parts along the machine is worth $500 or more with the large door coin mech, Coin door and VMC coin bezel. I am not too up on the current market so I am sure someone else will chime in. If it were up to me I would pay in the $500 to $700 range.

And Sold it to him forthe same amount because Josh Said It was goint to be a Father son Restore .But he later sold it to another member on this site

You Really   to remove the Inner door panel & move the Insulaion To MAKE SURE someone did not Bondo in the frount & put a Decal on it

Its not bondo'd It has the VMC embossed square at the bottom and if you look closely at the pic it has a VMC coin bezel.

Leonard,  I just sent you a private message. I never meant to upset you by selling the 110. My Dad moved to Singapore and I moved to Memphis at that time so a father son job was out of the question. I didn't make a profit on it either.

Got it! Appears to be a solid original.  Details to follow later this evening after I sneak it past the War Department!

Well, my new (used) Canada Dry VMC 110 is still hiding oh in the back of my Dodge Magnum.  Need to move a few things around in the garage and tuck it in the corner for a bit.  The sellers were in their 70's and they have an auto parts/salvage yard outside of Cheboygan, MI.  Apparently, back in the day, the main building used to be a small grocery store and gas station.  The machine was placed in the store near the front door back in the 50's and stayed there until it was moved out to the barn a few years back.

The body appears to be very solid with no beltline rust problems.  One dent at the top of the front door above the lock but nothing that can't be bumped out.  The kick plate is also bent up pretty good but those are available repop.  It appears that the coin-mech is still in it but they did not have the key for the coin mech door and it is locked.  All the shelves are there and complete cooling system although I almost drove away without the shelves because they were not in the machine--that would have been a costly mistake! oops

Got a good deal on it so now I have to decide whether to part out or restore.  I prefer the 6 case to the vending 110 but they are both nice machines.  If I restore, I may do a Dr. Pepper similar to the one in the web-site banner although the Canada Dry would be neat and a little bit different.  Does anyone know where I could get the Canada Dry Decals if I went that route?

I will post some pics when I get it unloaded.

Congrats!

Since the machine is complete, please don't part it out. It would be such a shame. But of course it is your machine so you can do with it as you wish.

I like the Canada dry option the best. That along with the story the owners shared with you when you picked it up adds to the nostalgia. I hope you got some pictures of the old store when you picked it up.

Anyway, just my take. Again, Congrats!

These pictures are a bit overdue but here is my Canada Dry VMC 110 that I picked up in Northern Michigan on the 3rd of this month.  It has one bad dent at the top left corner of the front door but I think it will bump out without too much effort.  This one will have to get in line behind a long list of projects.  When I get around to it, I am either going to keep it Canada Dry or do it up Dr. Pepper like the one in the banner on the web-site.

To the pictures!
