Its weird how it works something unusual is brought up and wow it pops up on ebay!

Anyone know any history on these "C" machines? Im guessing they came out before the "B" model as the have a coke medallion is green like the "A" model. I wonder how many are really out there? Glen do you own one or have you in the past? You are the first person to tell me they exist in 5 years and sure enough it pops up on ebay.

Auction #150058568699

If the only difference is the stainless steel, even if I was an ardent collector I think I could live
without having one.

Are you going to bid Joey??

According to the big binder manual I have, the "B" and "C" use a lot of the same parts. It has the green medallion (as Joey said), but also has the large embossing like the "B" and "D" models.

My guess is that Vendo had 81A parts (cabinets without trim, bottle doors and/or medallions) left over and just mix-matched a "C" model after the "B" model was introduced. Unless there is any kind of flyer or salesman pamplet out there identifying the different 81's available, I doubt we will ever know for sure.

Must have been a short run transition between the B and D
hense the ā€œCā€ model code...New embossed doors yet all the
B left overs...... maybe a year run or shorter.... Bet there have been
C made into 2-tones D and some didn't even know it......

Is it really worth that much?
You could buy three unrestored A,B, or D machines for that price. A "C" machine could be fabricated easily from parts.
Sleepwalk has got to be happy - he probably got it for a normal price and didn't have to do anything to it.

Buyer identities are hidden so it is my guess that Sleepwalk is not only the seller............but the high bidder as well!
