Something could have happened with the buyer. I have actually done this before. I sold a Cavalier 96 square top to someone on ebay and they had to back out. I ended up selling it to the second highest bidder so I let it go but you never know. It might not b ethe sellers fault. Just like the person that just bought my Cavalier 80 on ebay. He thinks he might want another one of my machines instead. I told him that if he finds something else that he wants I would let him out of the ebay deal on the Cavalier. So there are a number of reasons that it could be back on ebay. If you were to buy it just make sure that you don't pay anything untill you arrive to pick it up. If you get there and it is not as described and you no longer want it he can't leave you any negative feedback or else ebay will remove it for you. So either way I don't see how you could loose on the deal

Halehouse,

Got your PM.  Thanks!  I just finished a cold, 20 ouncer.  I raised the last swallow to the Mid-Atlantic!  I'm still holding a glimmer of hope for the VMC 33.  Maybe $600 will get it.

Wayne,
I would also help loading it. If I were you I would go for the Vendo 39, for the same price I think it´s the better machine.
I don´t believe that the seller will give you the VMC33 for
600$.

Lars,

Some one got the 39 for $600 using Buy-It Now.  My loss.

Well, they didn't accept $600 for the 33.  I figured I didn't have much of a shot.  The guy "was told by a Coke collector years ago it was worth $2500".  So, that's what he wants for it.  I said, quite politely, I thought I was being pretty fair based on this machine only vends 1 flavor, takes small bottles, isn't restored, etc.

I also cited the opinions of you guys and the Jeff Walters book.  I told them how you can't believe some of the listings on eBay or restoration professionals' prices (they are tying to make money and it seems are asking close to double of what's in the book).  I used the example of having a '57 Chevy.  Some one may say it's worth $40,000 and then that's what you think it's worth.  However, some one more "in the know" would say "what kind of Chevy".

It seems guys like this take a quote from some one who doesn't know the real details and set an inflated goal.  Oh well, I started with nothing and still have nothing.  I'll keep on looking.

90grad,
Contact him again in a few weeks and tell him your 600.00 still stands and leave your #. Eventually he'll probably figure out he isn't going to get the big bucks.  '<img'>

Terry,

You are reading my mind.  I was dealing with a lady who was listing the thing for her boyfriend.  She is really nice and actually lives across the street from our former home.  Her boyfriend, and the machine, live in Baltimore.  I gave her the reasoning behind my offer and left my number.  My guess is he will just keep it.
