So after reading Eric's stories about his Nichol Kola and Orange Squeeze coolers I got jealous and wanted to bring something back from the dead like he did.  I found a picture of an Orange Kist cooler sitting in the woods somewhere and thought if I hiked in and pulled it out and fixed it up it might be the only story that could top his Nichol Kola story.  Well, by the time I was ready to go get it someone had beat me to it.  Amazingly, I got lucky and found another orange kist closer to me and without having to hike.  It was a master size though and the bottom of one side was completely rusted.  I happened to have spare parts from a generic standard size cooler (that a member here picked up for me Thank You!).  So i decided to make a standard out of it.  I had the bottoms of both sides cut and welded and the front master piece cut down into a front standard sized piece.

Here is before...

I love it when someone goes the extra mile to bring back a machine/cooler that surely would have found its way to the scrap yard!
Awesome project and Thanks for sharing ! ! !
Keep us posted as you progress...

Great welding job, very little warpage.  You and Eric are proving that there is nothing that CAN'T be fixed.

Are you allowed to work on your machines in the house?  laugh

unfortunately I'm not the one doing the work, I wish I knew how, would save some time and money, my sister's boyfriend used to work in a body shop so he introduced me to his old boss, the rough part is he is always busy and my stuff has to take a back seat to the money makers, so I'm on his time-frame, which is super slow...

It sure is good to know these type of guys... they can really work magic... seeing these brought back is awesome... the guys doing the work start
to get interested in them too.. most have never even heard of these brands or know this type of stuff exist.. And Lonny's right it's tough being
on their schedule... And Deer season is coming up fast and my guy is a serious hunter!!!!!

Can't wait to see these coolers done... Look'n good Lonny...
