Title: Coke Temprite Giant
Post by: ajf5577 on October 07, 2015, 10:02:27 pm
There haven't been any cooler posts for a while so I'm sharing this one that I picked up just today. Temprite Giant that was in the attic of an old building in downtown Indianapolis. The building caved in, and the owner found this. It's just as straight as it was new with no dents and has a stainless steel liner. Missing the slide in tray. The finish has been darkened by years of coal smoke like most attics. It's just plain nice to make finds that haven't seen the light of day for years, even if it is a common one. Any ideas of removing the outer stain while keeping the original finish?

Don't know what straight MEAN GREEN will do to it...pinball guys use it to remove years of nicotine from the cabinet of games.

You can find Mean Green at your local dollar store,

I have never seen a picnic cooler with no dents.  I hope it cleans up but if it doesn't, it should be very easy to paint.

I agree Glenn,
There could be a problem or two under that attic filth, but it's as straight as I have seen them.
When I ever get to it I'll post pics.

That one is very straight, congrats! I would start with very hot water and paper towels to get the soot. Micro-fiber and Windex for the rest of the layers of crud. If you go the Mean Green route don't leave it on very long. Citrus based and will discolor Enamel paint.
