Hey Kevin- I am renovating a vmc56 (my first and only machine), and it does not have a cap catcher. The pic below is from my VMC77 but it fits my VMC56. These catchers are plactic and have a notch on the back that slips uder the metal box on the door and holds it in place. When I spoke with Sharon at sodajerkworks she said it was part P40 (which doesn't seem to exist anymore??). I think the HP30A catcher looks like a closer fit, but I'd call them to be sure... I'm almost positive Sharon said they had the plastic ones.
