Title: Coke rack
Post by: Blind1968 on November 01, 2012, 10:24:32 am
So I finally got the coke rack home last night, it appears to be almost completed and only missing the top 1/4 plywood shelf. It had been sitting in a basement for many years so there are some rusty areas on the frame but nothing bad.

I can replace the plywood easy enough but the million dollar question is should I refinish the frame or just leave it original. The original paint on the frame is spotty and missing along the top of the rails.

Thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

Bryan

Paint the frame, keep the sign original.

Thanks for the advice & support gentlemen. So I spent most of the morning stripping it down, prepped and painted the rack. It already looks so much better. I will get it put back together and post some final pictures soon.

Does anyone know how to date items like these?

The date was stamped on the bottom of the top shelf plywood
Kidding.  :)

Very funny!

as far as knowing the production date and usage date... I'd say mid 50's .. it looks like it would hold 6 packs of bottles.. just my opinion..

Very compact display rack, ideal for serious Coke collectors.
