Title: Handles for dispenser??
Post by: on August 15, 2003, 03:12:43 pm
We recently bought one of the old Hires Root Beer barrel dispensers from the 1950's, but the plastic handle is broken.  We are hoping to find a replacement that's similar to the old one.  Can anyone help??
It's made of black plastic, slightly tapered.  measures almost 3" long, 5/8 across at one end 7/8 across at the other.  It srews onto a metal stem that comes out of the spigot.  We've searched all the local hardware stores, but no luck.
Thanks!!

Can you tell me what company made the dispenser? Better yet can you post a picture of it and the broken part ?

its from the "Hires Dispensing Equipment Co."

But we've already located two handles for it.
For anyone that might need to know in the future, we found exact replacements online thru Reid tool supply co. P/N BTH-12.
Thanks

Very glad to hear you found the part and it sounds as if it was fairly quick and easy. I have a number of old dispensers and often of to buy another “restorable” one to get the part I need.
Thank you for posting the pictures, most of the barrel dispensers I have seen where made by the Multiplex Co. so it is nice to see other brands.

If you would like to see the dispensers I have click here
