Restoring America...1 machine at a time!

« on: July 06, 2011, 09:29:44 pm »

This Frisch's Big Boy sold at an auction today close to me. 10' tall and looked almost brand new. I thought I might get it for around $800. Boy was I wrong! $2800 took it home. Pretty cool though!

I think they are being reproduced... funny to think that something that big would have a market for reproduction, but I konw that Cheese from Cheese's Pit Stop (Gas pump site like this) has had several, and have a feeling that is where they are from... he got them made and they do awesome custom painting in house..

pretty cool, but I agree, I'd be in the shed with it!

The Big Boy franchise allowed owners to name their restaurants with their own name, so there were a lot across the country.  I grew up with Abdow's Big Boy right up the road.
