Is there anyway to tell the vintage of an Ideal55 by it's serial #?  or some other identifier?

Ed @ Colamachines..com says they were made from 1949 to the mid 50's.

 I believe Vendo was the only company using the date of manufacturing as part of their serial number. I wish I could be of more help  '<img'>
