have an embossed  pepsi Ideal 55 cooler...... could anybody give a paint code/suggestions as to the type of paint needed.... for the body as well as the embossed areas?....was manufactured around 1950

Welcome Greg,
according to a paint code list at colamachines.com the darker blue Pepsi used in the 50's can be reproduced with  Dupont "Intense Blue"    1014 L.R.V. 31%   
Haven't found color codes s for the embossed areas, but it's a start, so let's see some pics '<img'>
