Title: V80 coin door and bezel
Post by: on February 20, 2005, 03:57:15 pm
Howdy all,
I'm searching for a replacement coin door and chrome coin entry bezel for my V-80.   The original coin door is a dented and bent in such a way that repair would be difficult and the coin entry bezel is badly pitted.  Finding new ones would be ideal.  Another question, is the coin entry bezel on the V80 the same as the V81 D model?  Thanks!

Lonestar,
I'm fairly certain the Vendo 81 large door models are identical to the Vendo 80 (coin entry bezel too) and I know for a fact that the Vendo 144 single brand coin door and coin entry bezel are a dead on match.  Now the fun part....FINDING them!! :;):

Here are a couple of contacts somewhat off the beaten path, but have always been good for me:

Byal Brothers (Indiana) - 765-675-8999, they're usually parting out machines and have parts available.  Ask for Randy.

Speed and Sport Platinum (Houston, TX) 713-921-0235
Sometimes they have extra bezels and their chroming is top-notch!!

Hope this helps you out!

Eric - a few questions

Where in Indiana are the Byal Brothers? I have been searching high and low here and haven't found to many resources, it seems like everything I need is out of state. Is there a certain era of machine that they specialize in or are they pretty diverse in what they get/have.

What are the prices like at the chrome shop you mentioned? I know alot depends on the condtion of the part (pitting, outgassing holes, general damage) Do they only offer what alot of places call "show chrome"? or do they have different levels instead of just triple chrome plating.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply!  I too am curious about how expensive the rechroming would be.  Another question - does anyone know where I can buy a replacement set of the decorative chrome panels from front of a v80?  Mine are a bit rusty in spots.  Thanks!

Byal Brothers is right outside Indianapolis in Tipton and generally has a wide variety of machines and parts.  You'll have to call them for more details as their inventory is pretty fluid.  As far as Speed and Sport Chrome goes, you'll have to call them too, I've only used them once but was very pleased with their work.  They found a replacement bezel for me when mine was ruined by another piece-of-sh** company in Mobile, Alabama.  Texans, good folks that take care of customers!

Speed and sport charges 125.00 for the small door bezels, I am not sure about the big door bezels. Terry

Thanks for the info Eric! I'll give them a call next week when I get back from Not-so-sunny San Diego.

The chrome shop that I dealt with to get all my chrome work done on my VF117 did a great job considering the condition of what I sent them, kinda a G.I/G.O. (Garbage In/Garbage Out) situation. in all it cost me about $200 to get all of it done in "show chrome". The name of the place is SuperFine Shine. They are located in Chillicothe, Ohio and ran by a super-cool guy named Phillip. They won't give an estimate off of description or photo so you have to send them the parts and let them beadblast them so that they can better judge what the cost will be. Once you agree to the quoted price, send em' 50% of the cost and the work starts!

Since then, I've used him one other time to get my chrome work done for my Stoner Jr. Candy Machine and his guys did a GREAT job! here's the link: SuperFine Shine
Good luck with your V80!

The Vendo 81 coin door is 4" deep where the Vendo 80 is 3" deep  The bezels are interchangable coin doors are not.       I've seen a lot of coin doors broken into, but never seen one that couldn't be fixed. Check with your bodyshop before replacing it.
