Well, this year has been good to me too. I went from getting a POS V83 for nothing, to finding this site, buying 5-6 square tops, selling one or 2, my 88, and my Juke. Now I am looking at getting an arcade game or 3, possibly another juke or 3, plus getting a few of my buddies in trouble with my new hobby '<img'>...  Now all we need is someone on this site who can add hours to a day to make more time to play with these toys....   '<img'>

Happy Thanksgiving every one.  It has been a great year for my restoration projects.  Most of all, I am thankful that my 3 year basement project is finally done.  The 50s style malt shop was the last stage of finishing off my basement.  I hope you like the pictures.

However, I am moving on to different pastures.  I finally bought my 1931 5 window coupe.  It is an Oldsmobile that has great potential.  I will spend the next year fixing it up to be a traditional high boy hot rod.  It will be "old school".  I know nothing ablout restoring old cars but I knew nothing about restoring old soda machines 4 years ago.  Please wish me luck.

I will keep in touch

Nice room.  Actually, it looks like you have too much room!  You need to get more "stuff" down there.
Wow, looks like you have lots to do on the Olds.  Is that all you have to start with?

Okay 2006 has been a very big year for me. It was only after I walked around my little room that I realised just how much I have bought this year. No wonder the Bank Manager has struck me off his Xmas Card list. Thank God for an understanding wife. My New Year resolution is to be more of my own man. I will not be swayed by certian individuals on this site who has brain washed me into buying alsorts (Only Joking)

The year started with my Hershey Machine turning up a little dented and a few weeks late.

I then found a Swami Fortune Telling Machine reight here in the Uk so snapped that up.

Next came the Petrol Pump. A good 40's/50's English pump. Took it back to bare metal and re-sprayed it and now it sits happily inside after spending a lifetime outside.

Why stop there. I found a Jukebox seller trying to get rid of a Jacobs Pepsi Machine. Went and had a look at it and before I know it a couple of Elves were laoding it into my car. Not only that but they also said "Why don't you take those two dispensers?". The Jacobs is sitting sadly in the garage. One day I hope to get enough together to have that sorted properly. The dole was sandblasted and re-sprayed and with the help of Creighton I managed to get a stand for it a few months ago.

Enough the wife crys. But Oh no. What's this I see on Ebay. Surely not a V-56. With great excitement I travel 4 hours each way (that is quite difficult to do on my small Island) to pick up a V-56 that has sat in a barn for at least 20 yrs ad probably another 15 yrs before that in a Barn in the US. Lots of money and time and a reat deal of help from too many to mention and the machine is now almost ready. The Compressor is out and with a professional and I keep my fingers crossed that it can be fixed.

In between I find a Candy machine near to home in a basement. That was taken back to bear metal re-sprayed and decals made.

I then found a Perfume dispeser on Ebay here in the UK. That turned up all dented and with broken bottles but s now proudly sitting on the vendng a spray of perfume for just a dime.

The jukebox show produced a lovely RC Picnic Cooler. Always wanted something RC never tasted it but the Yellow is a great colour.

The Hires Sign was a bonus. Great sign at a very great price.

Last of all the clock, which I have bored you all with already.

So, all in all a great year for toys. With my trip to the US in a few months who knows what I'll be able to pack and bring back.

The best thing of all though is the great group of friends I now have that share this hobby of mine. They are priceless.

Can i ask what a couple of your machines are?
Is this a Radio?

You know if i got one of these for the girlfriend she'd probly complain less about me spending all my money on coin-op instead of buying her a christmas present  '<img'>

Yep, that's my radio. Not quite as pretty as the Dahlberg on the other topic but it works just great and sits right next to my desk for the football.

The pink thing is indeed a perfume dispenser and it gives you a squirt for an old English Sixpence or a US dime. The bottles that came with it. Unfortunately two broke due to very bad packing, still smelt of the perfume left in them.

The model in my posts is by little boy Elliot who is an expert on Ebay and I have just discovered (a costly one) that he knows my password. A six year old who has taken to buying his own Christmas Presents.
